Created by Founder and Director, Gordon Beck in 2003. Shine launched with the vision of creating an intergenerational arts community to inspire and uplift children and young people and provide a creative space for parents and adult volunteers.  With a creative production team and a cast of children and young adults, Shine presented the musical, Annie as its inaugural production.

Throughout the years, Shine grew and expanded its reach to welcome new members and volunteers throughout the organisation. From 2003 until 2010, Shine Youth Music Theatre presented 24 productions including, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Les Miserables, Oliver! and Billy Elliot, which was also performed in London’s West End. Shine’s creative teams crafted detailed costumes and intricate sets that grew with each new production.
